Macmillan is always an emotive cause that is close to all our hearts.  Almost everyone in the UK knows someone who has been affected by cancer.  The support work done by the charity is invaluable to sufferers and families alike, here at Fourways there was no hesitation in investing in this national day of support for such a worthy cause – the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 25th September.

In the interest of staying alert and not suffering from any sugar crashes due to too much cake throughout the day, we opted for a Macmillan Lunch instead.  Everyone brought in a food donation and made a contribution to the kitty for what must have been the largest lunch in history!

Cakes were still aplenty however; we had amazing brownies and our newest recruit in the Reservations team, Louise, made a wonderful job of making the Macmillan cake itself which served as a fabulous centre piece.

Another sweepstake was drawn – guess the spots on the cake drew various guesses from the downright scientific to the wildest of guesses!  Happy to say that Nicky (who always runs the company sweepstakes) FINALLY won one!

Our Self Drive branch got involved too – by purchasing and scoffing some wonderful cupcakes – and donating too of course!

Many thanks to everyone – we raised a fantastic £175 for the cause.
